Pardon me, for not blogging frequently and forgive me for being missing in action. My reasons? I haven't found any inspiration to blog, occasionally experiencing a writer's block. Furthermore, my english vocab/ grammar is getting the best of me (thanks to the long holiday). Plus, I'll be enrolling in a polytechnic, which means there won't be any GP/ english lessons which would make things a whole lot worse. So for the remaining holiday I have, I will try to read the papers and books (unfortunately they don't interest me as much as they used to in the past - shit, another tell-tale sign my english is deteriorating).

School would start in April and I have chosen Mass Communications, and I hope that this choice I have made is right, and would be a stepping stone to what I would like to do in the future (fashion). People are wondering why I didn't choose a fashion-related course right now, it's because my family would forbid me to take up ANYTHING related to fashion (they don't think it'll get me the income or even get me far, also I am afraid to specialize in just an area, because what if I don't want to work in the fashion industry just yet? or can't get a fashion-related job? So yes, I've taken the general media route, hoping to gain some experience before stepping into the fashion industry.

Do you think I made the right choice? Guess only time will tell.

How time flies - it felt like yesterday that 2011 had just started, but today we're all preparing to usher and welcome another brand new year. 2011 was the year where so much have happened - I've learnt from experiences, grown distant from people, grown closer to others etc and it has been amazing, no matter how bad the year has been.

We all go through ups and downs everyday in our lives, we just have to embrace our mistakes and pick ourselves up when we fall.

We are only young once, and we only have one life, so live your life to the fullest, because I'd rather regret things I've done than to regret not doing things.

How have you been? It's been long, and I haven't been posting lately and regularly because I've been occupied with my part time job, and that my desktop is down (I'm blogging and surfing the net with my brother's Macbook). Speaking of my desktop being down, it's been down for a week or two, and I still haven/t fixed it because I'm such a tech noob. I think I gotta dismantle the CPU and change the hard drive or something but I'm not entirely sure...

A side note: I'll be travelling to Jakarta, Indonesia with my friends this Saturday and will be back Wednesday...I'm pumped!

We're 16 days away from Christmas day and it doesn't hurt to dream of what one would like for Christmas, wouldn't it?

Here is my annual Christmas wish list for 2011...*drum rolls*

1. DVDs of all the seasons of Supernatural, because I'm in love with Sam and Dean Winchester

2. Black converses, as I would like to have a converse shoe collection and what better way to expand it by purchasing one every year (it makes it even more special)

3. A fixed computer. I've not fixed up my computer by purchasing a new hard drive for a week now (yes, I've lived a week without a computer and it is horrible...)

4. At least 12 points for O level (please? I've been pretty nice this year)

5. A Nerf gun - no explanation needed

6. Books, any interesting ones, just throw it at me. If they are terribly good I will love you for life. Speaking of books, I've yet to read George Martin's A Game Of Thrones which I bought before the O level...

7. Sweaters. God, I am such a sweater lover...I don't care if the weather is awfully hot and humid in Singapore - my love for sweaters will never die

8. Varsity jackets - would like to collect them like how I'm collecting converses

9. Ray bans (still thinking whether I should because knowing the person I am...I'll most likely break it)

10. To meet the Shaytards family and Charles and Allie from CTFxC (I watch their daily vlogs daily, religiously)

Honestly speaking I am afraid. Deathly afraid, of the future. I know I've talked about this a couple of times, but it's something that is bound to happen sometime or another and it's pretty much inevitable. You can't actually stop and go back in time or whatsoever.

What I've learnt, as the days goes by and you grow older you have so much more responsibilities and shit to deal with...which obviously sucks but everyone has to go through. Bills, payments, housing, mortgage, travel all that you gotta deal with.

Maybe I'm starting to worry a lot because I've started working as a part timer. God, even working part time is already tough, and I don't even know how I'm gonna pull through being an adult working full time and being committed for years. Before landing myself a job, I still have to go to college etc and get myself educated and prepared.

College fees are getting more expensive and so are tuition fees. People with degrees find it difficult to get jobs. In this situation, I have absolutely no clue how the hell I will be able to survive in this world, where money makes the world go round. Times like this when I wish that things were much simpler, and that we have nothing to worry about, but that's impossible.

I'm just so deathly afraid....

Starting work on Monday, excited yet nervous at the same time! Definitely can't wait though, beats having to rot at home from boredom or spend tons of $$$ shopping because I'm bored doing nothing at home. With a part time job, I can gain experience, earn a lil' money and kick the habit of hardcore, senseless shopping (well, sort of) - it's like killing two birds with a stone :-)

I can't get over how amazing the weekend was. It was mental meeting The Wanted over the weekend and it's unfortunate that we couldn't take individual pictures with them...It has been only two days but I'm already having withdrawal symptoms alongside with a serious case of heart vacancy.

I got to hug Jay on Sunday but I regret not attempting to talk to him. But...he gave me a peck on my cheek and I did back at him (I think that did happen, but it was just so brief and quick). It's weird how I'm able to do this to complete strangers but feeling awkward if I ever do it to people I know. The whole hugging thing and all that.

Oh god, just wished that I lived in London. Makes life so much simpler and the vacancy in my heart less vacant since The Wanted boys live there.

I shouldn't have wasted my time studying natural veg yesterday because the questions I did were just plate tectonics and weather and climate...and I should've focussed on Japan for history because I didn't exactly know how the people of Japan benefited from the Fascist Rule.

My favorite 9/11 tribute in New York City can be found in Bryant Park. 2,819 empty chairs on the lawn facing the site where the World Trade Center once stood, one chair for every life lost. H&M Singapore

It's crazy how people have started queueing for H&M's opening at 2pm yesterday. I was anticipating for this very day, thinking that I'd be unable to fall asleep the night before and waking up early like the hardcore fans but I was wrong.

I had a good night sleep.

I woke up at 10am...and I've not headed down to town to check out the new store...yet.

Maybe soon, because from the pictures on twitter, it seems like the interface of the place is similiar to the one I visited in Hong Kong, and I would very much like to relive that moment where I first stepped into H&M (I can never and will never forget).

I'm just praying and keeping my fingers crossed that it wouldn't be crowded when I head down on a weekday. Maybe to beat the crowd at the next level, I'll be there at 10am on the dot. (Ha! Beat that..okay don't, seriously.)

The excitement is gradually coming back into my system... Can't wait for the weekend to be over! Can't wait to head down to the store!

Universal Studio Singapore with my family and Anisha (who I have not seen in months, so it was definitely really good to be able to see her again, catch up and have fun) yesterday. Staycation at Festive Hotel which, by the way, has an amazing bathroom (hint: huge with a jacuzzi-like bathtub). Good times.

PS: YES WE CONQUERED BOTH BATTLESTAR HUMAN AND CYLON WHICH WERE CRAZYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stagnant water

Today, I got back my Prelim 1 results which weren't up to standard (as always). It's never going to be. I did try, or perhaps attempt to try, but it just wasn't my best. Maybe because I've lowered the bar so much that I don't even seem try and give in just like that. Sometimes I feel, "what if my best isn't good enough?" what am I supposed to do then? What can I do? What if my best equivalent to everyone's worse? What if I can never do this?

This prelim really got me thinking, that I've only got weeks to the next prelim and 4 months to the big national examination...and what if I can never meet my expectations. Or even improve at all. Also that I don't think I'm suited for all this studying.

As much as I really want to get into a Junior College, it's just only because I want to please my parents, and partially also because that it's a wider platform for me, before I'm actually clear of what I really want of my future.

I will definitely head to Junior College, but only if my results ever allow me to get in. At the same time, if I do get into Junior College, I don't really know if I can keep my sanity for another 2 years just studying topics I may not even want to further in. It's not that I'm biased towards Polytechnic because of the stress in Junior College - I understand that both will definitely be stressful (there's no easy way out in life), but I keep wondering if we do have anything to live for/ if there's a meaning to life? Why is it necessary to study the irrelevance? How will it help us?

Furthermore, when we grow up, we work. In the end we all just want to earn money and survive in this world. Junior college (2 years) > Bachelor Degree (2-3 years) just to achieve a higher pay (after 5 years) and Diploma (3 years) > Workforce (a few years) > Higher pay after experience of a few years. Are they not nearly the same? Just different paths...

To be honest, I'm debating myself, and I'll just be forever debating myself. Will it be worth it to lose my sanity just to please my family? Will it be worth going through the torture (all over again)? I would think so, since it's only two years, but two years...it's such a small number, but yet such a long time.

Everyone says "It's only two years," "Hey, you survived 10 years of being in school," but really, everyone is different.

I just want to get better grades. I need to. I need to push myself. I need to taste the sweetness of achievement. The sense of satisfaction. No matter how much/ hard I try, my grades forever remain stagnant.

Stagnancy is better than deproving right? But no, stagnancy is a sign that I'm contented with my results. I'm not, but I can't seem to improve. I don't know how. I just wish I knew how.

I'm thinking of deleting this page.. but I'm sure there'll be days I'd like to ramble about my life. Perhaps when I graduate from secondary school, I might.

Meanwhile...I'm browsing through recipes (even though I am pretty bad at baking) for fun. Also because my gramma's birthday is around the corner and so are some of my friends.

Before I forget, just a word to sum up last week (the week-long absence from the internet...which I survived, yay): stress. Had prelim 1 (where the last paper is tomorrow! human geography which I haven't started on) and O Level Chinese oral!!!!!! I totally....totally....totally...totally...freaked out. No, actually I was less nervous than I thought I would be when I entered the examination room, but before that I had a mix of uncontrollable emotions that needed Jenn and Soph to keep me sane.

To conclude, I would absolutely want to thank Jenn and Soph for being there for me till the very end, having to listen to my ramblings and insanity. Everyone who wished me luck, and Jan, if you're reading this, I can't wait for you to come back to Singapore and I'll be there for you when you get back your results!

Suddenly I feel like giving up on everything and move away to some place new, where no one knows my name... a place I feel I belong, doing a job/ doing something I feel satisfied and contented with, going places/travelling non-stop. Damn, but there's not the slightest chance that you can go places without a proper degree. It's crazy, I know, but sometimes I just can't wait to find out what the future has in store for me. Doesn't the future feel so far away, yet so close....like it's breathing right down your neck? Goddammit, why do I look forward to something that I fear so much? Does that even make any sense?

I FINALLY GOT MY PRECIOUS FUJI INSTAX MINI 7 TODAY (with jenn)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But.....it isn't in white. *insert very very very very very very very very very sad face* I got it in blue instead and jenn got it in pink. I kinda want the white one, but it's ridiculous to pay extra just for the color. Well right now I'm making a promise to myself that I'll get the white one only if 1. I get into the fashion industry or 2. I'm 21 or 3. 10 years later. So we'll see...what do you guys think of the blue one?

So..it's 12.49am here. I don't actually entirely believe in the end of the world (perhaps just 49%) but I guess you'll never know. The "end of world" situatuion always gets me thinking..what if tomorrow was your last day/ you only had one day to live...how would you spend the 24 hours?

If tomorrow was my last day, I'll wake up and let my family know that I love them, call my friends and remind them that they mean the world to me, have bens & jerrys for breakfast, pizza for lunch, sushi for dinner. Finally, I would want to have my family (and friends) with me, and together we will build a campfire and have s'mores together.
