Tomorrow

To my beloved GESS Choir: Let us bring back (at least) a silver for this year's SYF! We've been through so many hours of practices since last year, scoldings from Ms Ong that we've endured..these, we can't let them all go to waste. Just do your best and give your all tomorrow! Do it once, do it right and brilliantly! Make Ms Ong and our seniors proud. We can do it ♥

I'm battling against myself all the time

It's difficult. Life isn't, we are, and so is sticking to goals, getting oneself disciplined etc. Well right now I'm rushing through my history homework, have been on the web since evening. How did the Cold War affect Europe?

MIA

Pardon my absence of four days from this space (it's not that long but it did feel so). I wasn't able to blog daily, something which I used to do. Perhaps it's mainly due to the endless amount of work and tasks given or that I'm trying to put in effort in my studies (well, much more effort than last year). To summarize that, I do my homework religiously daily and study for tests when I have to. Although it isn't much, I'm taking it slow but steady.

Tomorrow's a Saturday, and I can already see my schedule packed with peer tutoring in the morning, a dental appointment in the afternoon and Chinese tuition after that. Secondary 4 life causes lack of sleep and difficulty in holding onto your sanity.

Experience

Did a bioinformatics workshop in school today for the entire day which was so bloody boring. Some of us were fortunate to be let off the hook at the last period to head down to Singapore Poly to attend the Global Citizen Challenge 2010 which we didn't win at all. That was okay because we didn't actually register to win the challenge, but instead, have fun and soak up the experience and atmosphere. It turned out amazing in the end although the boring start. We had so much fun! :)

This is why we're cool

Monday started off with myself oversleeping, waking up at 6.55am then rushing like mad for school. After that it was 3 tests straight in a row. I'm so gonna flunk math bcos I studied chapters 7 and 9 when we're actually tested on chapters 6 and 9. Total fail moment thank you very much. Right now I'll be off to 1. study for geography test tomorrow 2. sketch up a proposal for teacher's day for choir 3. research and do my english homework shiz on Korea.

What is love anyway

Just four days away from the japan trip and I'm totally looking forward to it. Volcanoes (yay p geog group mates), rivers, bananas and jun qian - hahahaha. Kinda packed a little today cos I was way too excited to sit still and do completely nothing. But I gotta go through the luggage stuff tomorrow cos benn just told me the actual packing list just a while ago and I'm too tired to take everything out again. Parent-teacher meeting early this morning wasn't so great cos my scores weren't that good. Boooooo my L1R5 sucks to the core!

Youth 4 causes thing tomorrow thus gotta catch up on my beauty sleep.

PS YAY PURE GEOGRAPHERS FTW FOREVER! LOVE YOU GUYS. x

A fine frenzy

Camp was really awesome. I can't believe it's over, when it only felt like it was just yesterday. Okay, well everything felt like yesterday to me so.. scratch that.

I don't know why, but I have to say that my class is FREAKING AWESOME (..but I still miss 2g).

Day 1 was CIP day, we went to this high school where everyone was super friendly, although there was a communication barrier between us, gessians and them, the whole thing was bloody fun. We played ice breakers, games, art and crafts.

Day 2 was our so-called 'reward day', but we had to wake up at 4am (bintan time) to catch the tide (something like that?). We did sampan rowing, sandcastle building, treasure hunting (which lydia and I left halfway to do some stuff), coconut tree climbling (this too cos we're very important, talented and much needed people, you see) and campfire. Sampan rowing was swell, the water confidence test before that was kinda creepy, cos we had to sit on the shore bed which I was afraid that there were unknown creatures lurking under.. waiting to pinch and kill you in 10 seconds flat. Campfire was hot (literally too) and I got burnt by flying sparks. Hurts so bad.

Day 3 we went back to the high school to present some gifts to the students and the school, then headed to a plantation farm (which I personally thought was a mini pure geog field trip heh). The ferry trip back was choppy, but not as choppy as the ferry trip to bintan, which was horrible, as I saw people puking buckets and nose bleeding like mad. It stank and was totally insane.

Our camp instructors, Robin and Jie Min were the coolest instructors ever. Cooler than the coolest. Actually all were, really funny too. So overall, this camp was the best camp in the camp history. I

PS I agree with zeyang's post on camp. Best camp I've been too so far, and that I look weird plus of another race (no racist comment or attack here) after being slightly tanned. Ugh sucks, I did put sun block! Camp rocks(ed) ♥

Choir Practice: Part I

This was choir practice today. The number of endless hours of practices are starting to take its toll on me cos I felt dreadfully tired. Thank god for poker card games and pyramids. Now, we shall guess who did the pyramid above.

Stand for something or you'll fall for anything

Day 1 of camp we did rock wall, challenge rope courses and the zip line. I didn't complete the rope course cos I was hanging onto the pole for my dear life and was so scared to climb further that the trainers were telling me that if I don't climb higher/ go on, they would climb up to me and make me move. So yes, I started freaking out alot. Zip line was AWESOME. SERIOUSLY FUCKING AWESOME, even though my knees went jelly and I was begging the instructor to give me a second and stuff like that. So the conversation went like this when it came to my turn:

Me: OH MY GOD I CAN'T DO IT!!!!!!!!
Instructor: Yes you can just go
Me: Give me one second!
Instructor: Okay one second is over
Me: Aaaaaaaah another second!

I was grabbing onto the pole and unwilling to 'jump' off. My palms were so wet and sweating like shit that I was so scared I'll slip during the whole process and I'll die (maybe I was thinking way too much). But in the end it was reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally fun. Night trail was okay, but I was afraid to trip and fall over something.

Day 2 we had some team building activites, nature guided hike and campfire. The guided hike was so cool! So was the campfire, even though I don't think the audience were scared outta their wits, it was hilarious.

The camp made me feel so much better overall and exhausted, for I slept after I had my lunch and shower (thank god for luke warm water) for 3 hours and again for 11 hours at night. I am so gald that I went for camp. :-)

A happy ending to a bad start

tChoir camp was awesome even though it was only for a day (or two, I think we're resuming tomorrow too). Even though I'm dead tired and with my legs aching like shit, I actually loved everything and every second of the camp, except the haunted house part. The seniors made the i-studio into sort of like a scary place, we had to crawl under tables which had black cloth laid over them and it was SO dark. The addition of obstacles (eg. seniors grabbing your leg and having the trailer of the grudge played in the background - read: screaming, real scary sounds) did not help.. I was near breaking down when I first entered the room (we had to do it one by one) and I was sitting at the entrance of the 'tunnel' for 2 minutes before one senior 'accompanied' me into the tunnel.. and they forced us to watch the trailer (which I TOTALLY DID NOT, obviously) and tried grabbing our legs again. We tried to do a haunted house especially just for the seniors but it failed. It was more to the fun side, not scary. I can't wait for tomorrow now.. we're gonna have a full-dress (I guess?) rehearsal too. :-)

Ps: I am so tired that I'm really really really moody and grumpy. I definitely do not want to complete homework. >:(

Pss: Sorry the photo uploader doesn't seem to be working right now
